its a fan made game so they can't profit off it by selling it to Nintendo XD but yeah when it is released it will be downloadable on your computer for free.

The reason for the similarities is most handheld games use classic pixel graphics since they used small screens. pixel art is popular online and it is easier to make, animate, and program with than the graphics of modern games.
